NICAN RESORT HOTEL – KAMPALA COVID 19 STATEMENTS

COVID STATEMENT

Nican Resort Hotel is now fully open from 4th July following Uganda Government and Ministry of Health advice. We have completed a full COVID-19 risk assessment for the hotel and made many changes in aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19. A summary of these actions are included below:

We expect these changes to remain in place until the government advises that they are no longer necessary.

FOR RESTAURANT CUSTOMERS

  • Some tables have been removed to allow social distancing
  • no service at the bar; table service only
  • contactless menus or paper menu are wipe-clean and sanitised after each use
  • table are not set before arrival
  • sanitiser available throughout the restaurant and at entrance
  • extra signage advising guests of new procedures
  • doors opened where possible for ventilation
  • extra cleaning and sanitising throughout the day
  • glassware and cutlery will not be polished to reduce handling
  • distancing markers around the restaurant to encourage social distancing
  • contact tracing details are collected from all customers
  • Card and Mobile Money payments encouraged wherever possible
  • hand-sanitising stations in common areas of hotels, including food preparation areas, restaurants that remain open and common guest areas

 

 

 

FOR HOTEL GUESTS

  • Contactless check-in and sanitised keys and hand sanitiser at reception desk
  • no luggage assistance given unless requested
  • no daily housekeeping to reduce contact
  • throws, extra pillows and hairdryers removed from rooms
  • room is sanitised after cleaning and then locked
  • Contactless breakfast d, can be ordered to table
  • contactless check-out with key drop-box for sanitizing
  • Regular temperature checks for staff & guests                  
  • Mandatory face masks for staff  & guests       

FOR STAFF

  • Regular temperature checks for all staff and guests
  • Social distancing in place throughout the premises
  • frequent hand washing with running water & soap enforced
  • Staff required to wash their uniforms each shift
  • staff belongings stored in sealed bags separately
  • mandatory wearing of masks by staff and visitors

 

 

 

 

OTHERS

  • Doctors available 24/7
  • Our employees are undergoing additional clean training, including proper handwashing, physical distancing, and sanitization protocols.
  • Notices in public areas to inform guests about the situation and protective measures they can take;
  • Reception Desk is equipped with contacts of local health authorities
